Recommendation
The Environmental Staff recommends the approval of the contract award to Flagship Sweeping Services for street sweeping service and the authorization of funding.
Description/History
The project bid on February 8, 2012 and there were two bidders for the project. Bids ranged from a low bid of $21,547.22 to a high bid of $74,957.60.
Staff is recommending award of this project and authorization of funding for the bid amount of $21,547.22.
The lowest, best bidder was Flagship Sweeping Services. The contract time for this project is twelve months. Bid tabulation is attached.
One non-conforming bid was received and removed from consideration. The bidder did not meet the equipment, time in business, and reference requirements in accordance with the bid documents.
Justification
Flagship Sweeping Services has provided this service to the City of Mansfield for the past three years. Staff has been very satisfied with their level of service.
A Resolution is attached for Council's consideration.
Funding Source
The funding source will be the Drainage Utility Account.
