Description/History
In 2014, the MPFDC determined to provide a neighborhood park in the Spring Lake Estates subdivision. Staff designed a neighborhood park with amenities to satisfy the surrounding community's needs.  Staff met several times with the local HOA during the development process to efficiently meet the community's needs through the design.  The initial concept involves playground equipment for two different age groups, a swing set, a pavilion, benches, bike racks, trash cans, and a small trail with an open-space, and vegetative areas. This project was advertised publicly for bid and opened on May 14, 2015. The MPFDC voted to approve this bid at their regular meeting, June 18.

Justification
The development of the Spring Lake Estates Park will provide a park in the farthest eastern portion within the City's park system and will be a link to future pedestrian and bike trails.

Funding Source
