Requested Action
Resolution authorizing a one year renewable contract for the purchase of Liquid Aluminum Sulfate.
 
Recommendation
City staff recommends awarding the bid to the lowest bidder, Chameleon Industries, for the amount of $205.00/dry ton.
 
Description/History
The invitation to bid was advertised in the Fort Worth Star Telegram, posted on the CIty of Mansfield website, and bid packets were mailed to known suppliers and companies that requested them.
 
Justification
Aluminum Sulfate (Alum) is the secondary coagulant used at the water treatment plant. Coagulants are used to clarify water and remove organic material that may contain viruses and bacteria.

Utility Fund FY-2015, FY-2016 Operating Budget 25-8105-8401.
