Requested Action
Approval by the City Council for a resolution of the City of Mansfield, Texas, providing for an agreement between North Central Texas Trauma Regional Advisory Council and Mansfield Fire Rescue to establish a contractual relationship that will provide a regional registry of healthcare data in order to improve trauma care within the North Central Texas area as well as patient tracking and other related programs.

Description/History
Mansfield Fire Rescue has been part of the NCTTRAC for several years and maintains trauma protocols and guidelines as recommended by NCTTRAC. The agreement pertains to our Emergency Medical Services for ambulance transport data and patient statistical information. This agreement is currently in place signed May 2011 and is being revised/updated by NCTTRAC due to the development of new programs and changes that have occurred in federal and state laws. As a participant and member of the NCTTRAC, Mansfield Fire Rescue receives annual funding opportunities towards EMS supplies and equipment through NCTTRAC.
Justification
As stated, Mansfield Fire Rescue has an agreement in place since May 2011. This agreement is currently being revised by NCTTRAC. The agreement allows NCTTRAC to share program data with the State of Texas and local healthcare and governmental entities for purposes of responding to state and regional events. The agreement has been reviewed by Bill Lane, Attorney for the City of Mansfield and is approved as to form.
