Description/History

 The goal of the CJD is to provide needed funding to improve public safety and support victims of crime by filling system gaps and promoting innovative solutions to common problems.  The purpose of this program is to promote public safety, reduce crime, and improve the criminal justice system.  CJD is accepting applications for the purpose of hiring personnel or purchasing much needed department equipment.  It is anticipated that up to $12 million may be funded under this grant.  JAG funds are made available through a Congressional appropriation to the US Department of Justice and are subject to the availability of appropriated funds and modifications or additional requirements that may be imposed by law.
