Requested Action

Resolution authorizing a one year renewable option contract for the supply of Liquid Aluminum Sulfate (Alum).

 

Recommendation

City staff recommends approval of a resolution awarding the bid to the lowest and best bidder, Chameleon Industries, for the amount of $229.00 / dry ton.

 

Description/History

The invitation to bid was advertised in the Fort Worth Star Telegram, posted on the City of Mansfield website, and bid packets were e-mailed to known suppliers and companies that requested them.

 

Justification

Aluminum Sulfate (Alum) is the secondary coagulant used at the water treatment plant. Coagulants are used to clarify water and remove organic material that may contain viruses and bacteria.

Utility Fund FY-2017, FY-2018 Operating Budget 025-8105-84-01.
