Title

Resolution- A Resolution Approving an Amendment to the Contract for Design Services with Chuck Crook Consulting, Inc. for the Regency Parkway Road Extension Project for an Amount not to Exceed $10,150.00 (MEDC Fund)

Requested Action

Consider a Resolution approving an amendment to the contract for design services with Charles Crook Consulting, Inc. for the Regency Parkway Extension for an amount not to exceed $10,150.00.

Recommendation

The Engineering Staff recommends approval of the Resolution.

Description/History

The original contract with Charles Crook Consulting, Inc. was approved on July 11, 2016 with Resolution 3262-16 to provide design and survey services for Regency Pkwy Extension in the amount of $76,000.00.  The surveyor Charles Crook Consulting, Inc. hired to complete the design survey became unresponsive during the project.  To complete the project in a timely manner, Charles Crook Consulting, Inc. hired Brittain and Crawford, LLC to complete the project which resulted in a fee of $10,500.00 more than the original surveyor.

Justification

This additional amount is needed to pay for surveying services performed by Brittain and Crawford. This funding increase has been discussed with MEDC.

The Director of Public Works will be in attendance at the meeting to answer Council’s questions regarding the proposed funding and contracts.
