Title

Resolution - A Resolution Awarding a Contract for the Upgrade/Replacement of the City Hall HVAC Control System and Authorizing Funding for an Amount Not to Exceed $80,590.00 (General Fund)

Requested Action

Consider a Resolution awarding a contract for the Upgrade/Replacement of the City Hall HVAC Control System and Authorizing Funding for an Amount Not to Exceed $80,590.00.

Recommendation

The Building Maintenance Staff recommends approval of the Resolution.

Description/History

The project was bid on January 31, 2018 and there were 3 bidders for the project. The lowest qualified bidder was Schneider Electric. Bids ranged from a low bid of $80,590.00 to a high bid of $124,950.00.

The contract time for this project is One Hundred Twenty (120) working days. This project includes replacement of Sixty Five (65) VAV Box Controllers, Sixty Five (65) Space Temperature Sensors, Ten (10) RTU Controllers and all communication wiring and reprogramming of the existing control front end.

The requested funds are for a construction contract in the amount of $80,590.00, needed to complete the construction of the project.

Justification

Schneider Electric has the controlling frontend already in place and the quality meets our needs adequately. The Building Maintenance Department feels that Schneider Electric has the necessary staff and equipment to complete a job of this size and scope within the allowed contract time.

The Building Maintenance Manager will be in attendance at the meeting to answer Council’s questions regarding the proposed contract. A resolution is attached for Council's consideration.
