Title

Resolution - A Proposed Resolution Awarding a One Year Renewable Contract to the Lowest and Best Bid for the Supply of Liquid Ammonium Sulfate (LAS), for an Amount not to Exceed $190.00 / Wet Ton (Utility Fund FY-2018, FY-2019 Operating Budget)

Requested Action

Resolution authorizing a one year renewable option contract for the supply of Liquid Ammonium Sulfate (LAS)

Recommendation

City staff recommends approval of a resolution awarding the bid to the lowest and best bidder, Chameleon Industries, Inc., for the supply of Liquid Ammonium Sulfate (LAS), for the amount not to exceed $190.00 / wet ton

Description/History

The invitation to bid was advertised in the Fort Worth Star Telegram, posted on the City of Mansfield website, and bid packets were e-mailed to known suppliers and companies that requested them.

Justification

The TCEQ requires public water systems to provide a chloramine residual in the distribution system. When used in combination with chlorine, Liquid Ammonium Sulfate (LAS) produces the required chloramine residual.
