Requested Action

Resolution authorizing a one year renewable option contract for the supply of Poly-Aluminum Chloride (PACL).

 

Recommendation

City staff recommends approval of a resolution awarding the bid to the lowest and best bidder, Chemtrade for the amount of $394.00 / wet ton.

 

Description/History

The invitation to bid was advertised in the Fort Worth Star Telegram, posted on the City of Mansfield website, and bid packets were e-mailed to known suppliers, and companies that requested them.

 

Justification

Poly-Aluminum Chloride (PACL) is the primary coagulant used at the water treatment plant. Coagulants are used to clarify water and remove organic material that may contain viruses and bacteria.
