Requested Action
Consider the Resolution awarding a construction contract for miscellaneous concrete roadway rebuilds to Reliable Paving, Inc.; authorizing and directing the City Manager to execute contract documents; and authorizing funding for an amount not to exceed $915,000.00.

Recommendation
The Public Works Staff recommends approval of the Resolution.

Description/History
This project includes four separate locations that will be reconstructed concrete streets. 1) York Drive from Turner Warnell to Norfolk Drive is a concrete roadway constructed in 1995 that has several failed sections. 2) East Dallas Street from Walnut Creek Drive to east of Live Oak Drive is concrete roadway constructed in 1987 that has failed due to shifting pavement panels thus leaving an uneven and cracked roadway. 3) The eyebrow street section located on Clover Hill Road east of Chestnut Road is an asphalt roadway built in 1984 that was not converted to concrete in the past. The asphalt pavement is in poor condition due to turning movements from trash trucks. 4) Almond Drive from Yarmouth Lane to Fairfax Drive is an asphalt roadway built in 1983 that is in poor condition and has experienced pavement failures. The sections of Almond Drive north and south are currently concrete roadways.

This project was advertised in the Fort Worth Star Telegram on August 21 and August 28, 2019 and also advertised on the City webpage and www.civcastusa.com. Bids were opened on September 10, 2019. There were eleven bidders for the project. The lowest qualified bidder was Reliable Paving, Inc. The base bids ranged from a low bid of $840,254.00 to a high bid of $1,175,690.00.
