Description/History
This project is part of the City’s Water Master Plan. The project includes constructing a 2.0 million gallon elevated storage tank to supply water to the southwest section of Mansfield. The elevated storage tank will be located at Hanks Dr. and South Seventh Ave. and will be supplied by a 24-inch water line that is currently under construction.
This project was originally bid on July 18, 2019. All bids received were higher than the Engineer’s Opinion of Probable Cost of $6,070,000.00 and were rejected by council. The project scope was modified to help reduce the cost of the project. The project was rebid on September 25, 2019 and there were three bidders for the project. The lowest qualified bidder was Landmark Structures I, LP. Bids ranged from a low bid of $5,385,000.00 to a high bid of $7,593,000.00. The contract time for this project is Five Hundred Forty (540) calendar days or approximately 18 months.
The requested funds are for a construction contract in the amount of $5,654,250.00, a 5% construction contingency, survey, materials testing, inspections and other miscellaneous services needed to complete the construction of the project within a budget not to exceed $5,908,250.00.
