Requested Action
Consider a Resolution approving an amendment to the contract for design services with Teague Nall and Perkins, Inc. for the FM 157 and South Parkridge Sanitary Sewer Improvements for an amount not to exceed $24,000.00.

Recommendation
The Engineering Staff recommends approval of the Resolution.

Description/History
The original contract with Teague Nall & Perkins was approved on January 11, 2021 with Resolution 3720-21 for survey and design services in the amount of $239,175.00 to include the replacement of the 6-inch sanitary sewer main in South Parkridge Drive and upsizing the existing 8-inch sewer main along FM 157 between Tanglewood Drive and Moore Road to a 12-inch line. The replacement of the 6-inch sewer main in South Parkridge Drive was initially considered to be done by pipe bursting to minimize disturbance to the street surface. However, that will not be an option due to the curvature of the existing sewer alignment as well as low spots in the profile of the main. The existing water line along South Parkridge Drive from Walnut Creek Drive to Christy Lane has not historically required significant repairs, but it is asbestos-cement material and approximately 50 years old. If the street will be reconstructed with at least a fifteen-year service life, it is best to replace the existing water line now.

Justification
This amendment provides for the additional survey and design needed for replacement of the water line along South Parkridge Drive from Walnut Creek Drive to Christy Lane. The Director of Public Works will be in attendance at the meeting to answer Council’s que...
