HLC#21-013: Discussion regarding revisions to the Design Guidelines for Historic Mansfield
Description/History
The Commission directed Staff to begin drafting revised Design Guidelines for the City’s commercial historic landmarks. Due to the size and nature of the document, Staff is preparing the revised guidelines in sections. For this meeting, pages 61 through 78 with Chapters 5 and 6 and the Glossary of Terms, are ready for the Commission’s review. These pages complete the Design Guideline update.
These chapters cover:
• General principles new construction
• New commercial building design
• Treatment of historic signs
• Design of signs for pre-war buildings
• Designs for specific sign types
• Design of signs for Mid-Century buildings
• Glossary of Terms
Please review the attached draft. Staff will take comments and questions at the meeting. Staff will make any changes to these chapters and provide the completed Design Guidelines to the Commissioners for review at the November meeting.
