Requested Action
Consider the Resolution awarding a construction contract for Crown Drive, Chasemore Drive, Chasemore Court and Danbury Drive to Reynolds Asphalt and Construction Company, directing the City Manager to execute contract documents; and authorizing funding for an Amount not to exceed $350,000.00.

Recommendation
The Public Works Staff recommends approval of the Resolution.

Description/History
The asphalt roadways of Crown Drive, Chasemore Drive, Chasemore Court and Danbury Drive are included in the 2022 Roadway Capital Improvement Program. Chasemore Drive, Chasemore Court, 400 feet from Crown Drive and 150 feet of Danbury Drive are currently asphalt roadways with concrete curbs. The asphalt pavement has deteriorated and exceeded its life span. These roadways, based upon the 2017 Pavement Condition Index (PCI), are rated at 34 to 68, depending upon the street segment. This index rates pavement condition from 0 (dirt road) to 100 (new pavement). The typical PCI range for a roadway that is beyond its pavement life and needs to be reconstructed is between a rating of 0 and 50. Since 2017 these pavements have deteriorated where a complete reconstruction is warranted.
The requested funds are for a construction contract with Reynolds Asphalt and Construction Company in the amount of $317,782.55, and other miscellaneous services (i.e., curb repairs, traffic control) to complete this project. This project will be accomplished within a budget not to exceed $350,000.00.
