Description/History

In May of 2009, Mansfield entered into a 20-year agreement to sell and deliver treated water to Johnson County Special Utility District (JCSUD).

The attached 1st amendment to the original wholesale agreement provides provisions for how Mansfield and JCSUD will work together to ensure adequate water supplies are available for future growth. Key Provisions include a 20-year extension and an incremental increase in potential water sales up to 25 MGD.

Justification

Exponential growth is taking place in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and the service areas of Mansfield and JCSUD. This growth is driving the need for additional water supplies, which Mansfield can provide. Having a balanced sales portfolio for wholesale and retail customers provides the best opportunity for Mansfield to continue providing equitable rates to all customers.
