Requested Action

Authorize the City Manager or Designee to Execute an Updated Interlocal Cooperation Contract with the Texas Department of Safety for the Implementation of the Failure to Appear Program.

 

Recommendation

Staff recommends that the City Council of the City of Mansfield, Texas approve and authorize the City Manager or Designee to execute an agreement with the Texas Department of Safety for Implementation of the Failure to Appear Progam.

 

Description/History

House Bill 291 of the 88th State of Texas Legislative Session provided updates to the Failure to Appear Program. The Texas Department of Public Safety uses the provided information to deny renewal of the driver’s license of a person for a Failure to Appear.
