Requested Action

Consider an Ordinance amending certain sections of Chapter 31 of the Mansfield Code or Ordinances regarding the City’s Records Management program.

Recommendation

Staff recommends passing of the Ordinance.

Description/History

These proposed amendments to the ordinance referenced would revise specific subsections relating to the City’s records management program.

Justification

These amendments would update Chapter 31 of the City’s code of ordinances dealing with the City’s records management program.  The last amendments to this chapter were done in 1999, since then the City has created the office of Public Records & Transparency which streamlines the management of public records for the City.  The proposed amendments are a housekeeping matter and would update Chapter 31 to reflect a practice which would make the management of the City’s records more efficient.
