Description/History
The project was bid on May 1, 2018 and there were 8 bidders for the project. The lowest qualified bidder was JLB contracting, LLC. Bids ranged from low bid of $205,970.96 to a high bid of $266,002.50.

The contract time for this project is Forty Five (45) workind days or approximately 2 months. This project includesconstructing a southbound right turn lane on Walnut Creek Drive. at the intersection of Pleasandt Ridge Drive. It also includes a traffic signal modification and sidewalk replacement.

The requested funds are for a construction contract in the amount of $205,970.96, a 5% construction contingency, material testing, survey and other miscellaneous services needed to complete the construction of the project, to be accomplished within a budget not to exceed $235,000.00.
Justification
JLB Contracting, LLC, has successfully completed work in the City of Mansfield in the past. The Engineering Department feels that JLB Contracting LLC, has the necessary staff and equipment to complete a job of this size and scope within the allowed contract time.

The Director of Public Works will be in attendance at this meeting to answer Council's questions regarding the proposed contract. A Resolution is attached for Council's consideration.
