Recommendation
The Public Works Staff recommends approval of the Resolution.
Description/History
This project will add city wide wayfinding signage to direct citizens and visitors to attractions and destinations throughout the city. In addition, this project will add decorative poles and street markers to the downtown residential areas, downtown gateway signage, lighted street markers on the downtown traffic signals and pedestrian kiosk signs in downtown.
The project was advertised in the Fort Worth Star Telegram on July 9 and July 16, 2020 and also advertised on the City webpage and www.civcastusa.com
. Bids were opened on July 28, 2020. There were six bidders for the project. Since this is a unique project, bids were submitted from companies based in various regions in the country. Two of the bidders were from Texas, one bidder was from South Carolina, one bidder was from Georgia, one bidder was from Virginia and one bidder was from Wisconsin. The bids ranged from a low bid of $685,483.90 to a high bid of $1,391,107.00. The consultant’s probable opinion of cost was $869,780.00. The low bidder was Facility Solutions Group who will manage the project from their Austin, Texas office.
